Executive Director – Frank Mastropaolo
Frank Mastropaolo has a wide breadth of experience in teaching and performing drums and a degree in Music with a Percussion Performance emphasis. Frank maintains a full private lesson studio and has taught at several local high schools.
Frank Mastropaolo is the founder of Rhythm Armada Drumline which has been expanded to include many different performance groups and is now a registered non-profit youth education company, Armada Corps, Inc.

Director – David Davis
David Davis is an educator and performer in the Boise area. He is currently the director of bands at Middleton High School, after having graduated from Boise State in 2019 with a degree in music education. Mr. Davis teaches the fall marching band, spring basketball pep bands, two concert ensembles, and other general music courses.
David has been involved in many performing ensembles during his musical career. He has traveled with the Washington Ambassadors of Music across Europe, performing in 7 different countries. Upon starting his music degree at the collegiate level, he played with the All-Campus Concert Band and Symphonic Winds on clarinet. He was also a member of Blue Thunder’s sousaphone section for four years, serving two years as a section leader and one year as a soloist during the District-III Mel Shelton competition. At the end of his last season he was awarded with the Living Legacy award. In his private studies, David has studied under Leslie Moreau for clarinet and Adam Snider for tuba.
With the DCI community, he traveled and performed his age-out with the Seattle Cascades drum and bugle corps during their 2018 season. Here he marched on their contra line and was awarded brass rookie of the year. Continuing with his interests in the marching arts, he then went on to perform with Boise’s first independent WGI winds group, Armada Winds. In Armada David is continuing with dual responsibilities as part performer, part instructional staff.
Music: Brass – Chris Woods
Since November of 2020, Chris has been looked at as one of the youngest proficient educators
on the trumpet and music world. He has been an endorsed performing artist with Phaeton Trumpets since 2020 and has done numerous masterclasses and clinics in differing genres and specificities across the country, including Rocky’s Music Studio, Schalmont Schools Mohonasen Schools, The College of Idaho, Idaho Arts Charter School & Skyview High School.
Chris is currently finishing his degree in Music at Boise State in the spring, where he will be releasing a solo album as his final project. With performing experience in the Blue Thunder Marching Band, Armada Winds, Riverside Brass Quintet and different chamber experiences, he would like to give back to the community that gave so much to him through Armada Winds. Armada in general is very similar to a family and Chris is here to support the family ideal and make Armada Winds better than ever!

Kensie Stallings has a combined twelve seasons in marching music, beginning in 2008 with her freshman year at Centennial High School in Boise, ID. She marched clarinet for three years in high school, and then marched mellophone her senior year of high school, five years at Boise State University, two years with the Seattle Cascades Drum Corps, and aged out after two more years with the Blue Knights Drum Corps. Although she has mostly marched brass, clarinet is her main instrument and has played clarinet since starting band in middle school and still enjoys playing today.
Kensie’s instructor experiences include serving on both music and visual staffs for Centennial High School, Kuna High School, and the Horizon Soundsport. She is excited to be on staff with Armada Winds for the 2020 season and to work with an excellent program of staff and performers.
Aside from her passion of music, Kensie has a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and is a Park Ranger at Grand Canyon National Park.
